I have never had a single problem with UPS. Fed Ex can never seem to find my house, and they never show up when they say the will be there. When ever I order something I request UPS. If the company only uses FedEx, I will not make the order. FedEx has never done anything right for me.

My problem with UPS is the condition of packages they deliver any more. I can remember when if it came via UPS it looked like it was just packed by the vendor. Now, most of the time it looks like the gorilla from the old luggage commercial threw it out of a plane from 30,000 feet.[:@]

That's another problem with UPS.........try getting them to pay for something that they damaged! Even when something is shipped in the original shipping container, they use the excuse that, "it was not sufficiently packaged" and refuse to pay the claim.[sm=wtf.gif]

I refuse to deal with UPS, I hate them with a passion! They have screwed up deliveries to me more than I can count, and they don't seem to care. To them I am just a one person to their millions of customers, and it will not hurt them to lose this one customer. I always ask which delivery method when I order, if they only have UPS, I go somewhere else, or demand they use Fedex or USPS Priority mail.

I avoid UPS like the plague... But I almost always have the same driver and he and I have come to an agreement... He actually has my cell phone # and is nice enough to call me if no one answers the door... Told him a long time ago to just dump it over at my neighbors if he needs to. And he does. But the packages are almost ALWAYS destroyed.

I personally like FedEx MUCH better. If I ship something I go to them. Their prices seem to be better and they treat my packages better.

Years ago I worked as a loader at UPS... You would not believe the stuff that goes on there... The supervisors used to tell us that if a package was too heavy for us to just drop it on the floor and kick it to it's destination. And we were required to wear steel toe boots.... It was cheaper for them to argue with customers about damage then to pay worker's comp. for back injuries apparently.

Years later I was doing a computer repair at a UPS depot... I was sitting right there when some moron on a fork lift went straight for a HUGE box with the forks about 3 ft. off the ground... He went right through the package and acted all surprised that it happened... "Stuff" started leaking out of the box and I decided it was time to go... not sure if that computer ever got fixed.

Here if you miss your shipment you can call them and tell them you will just pick it up at the Depot but they will not be able to let you do that for 24-48 hours! WTF!?!?!? If I call FedEx and tell them I am coming to get it they will run back into the yard and yank it off the truck right then and there. I remember once I beat the truck back and the guy actually stopped the truck at the front door of the office to bring the package to me cause the supervisor called him. UPS refuses to do that sorta thing.

BTW... try Zanotti's for your parts... can't recall who they ship with but they had the best prices and I got my PCIII QUICK

Actually a friend of mine that has a succesful company will vouch the opposite, that UPS handles damages much better than the other companies. (he got burned on a $4,000 turbo kit by fedex). Everyone will have good and bad experiences with all shipping companies. To the original poster, if they left your part on your porch and it got stolen, you would be on here complaining about that...should have just had it shipped to your job originally.... For the other people complaining about transit times, if they did take that long, you are entitled to a refund. All of UPS Ground packages are gauranteed to be delivered within a certain amount of days...usually less than 4 days. Fed Ex and DHL in my area is horrible, they don't have a enough volume, so they bring stuff down to my area when they have another package to deliver. I have had many packages sit in the local hub for 2-3 days before they brought it down.

I prefer FedEx over UPS. Haven't had many dealing with DHL yet, so no opinion there. Back when I was working from home and getting alot of stuff in, I signed forms for all the big carriers allowing them to leave it w/o a sig. Never had a problem after that.

UPS is losing market share to FedEx Freight and DHL. My delivery truck left the dock at 6AM and got to my door at 7:59......and he STILL had more stops. The drivers are worked like sled dogs.
I feel for 'em. Sux for them AND us. Whenever I can, I ask the vendor to ship by FedEx Freight.........they usually do and the package arrives in good condition and in a timely manner......sun still up!

I would double check your facts on that. They have not lost any market share and DHL is getting bigger after buying out... umm airborne. The simply were taking over another company they were really not stealin routes.

As for sign or no sign EVERY company that ships should be requiring a signature. It is every Credit card companies LAW that a package be signed for. It is the only 100% sure way that it went tot that house. THATS IT. Even USPS delivery conformation only guarentees that it was delivered to that zip code. It will not cover the shipper in the event of a lost package.

Lost handgins being sent priority overnight was not because of in house theft but because of a new law that will be pressing shortly.
