Default Fork - Tool Bag Question

Every lose a tool bag?

I have a Sportster (2007 Nightster) and want some storage.

Looking at my bike, I was thinking a tool bag mounted down low on the frame, in front of the oil filter area (so to say), may be the best place.

I am worried that debris/ vibration, age/ wear of the leather bag strapes will make the bag part company with the bike and of course my driver license/ registration etc will be in the bag.

So any stories and losing tool bags while riding?

Are there any bolt on storage containers one can refer me to?

I ran one for years on my lowrider and it never gave a hint that it might fall off.

I believe you would notice that kind of wear-and-tear long before it fell off

IMHO I wouldn't store my license/registration in a bag like that...mine stay in my wallet.

If money's not an object, something like this (it locks):

Fork bags are awesome for bumming up the paint on your front forks.

Secure it tight and check it every once in a while... you should be ok. Some guys use zip ties.
