94' Sporty "Glydster" has about 120K(about, because speedo hasn't always worked-replaced speedo 6 times) Only had OEM style with first speedo, then went to aftermarket style on last 5. At 100K did a complete rebuild-custom because I started having alot of problems with it running badly. Everything I checked before and during teardown, though was not failing. Upon starting to put eveything back together, I was in the process of building motor and when I got the (original)ignition sensor out of parts box, I found that the sealant on the sensor itself had liquified and all had run out(looked OK when I took motor apart), I realised then, that was the the culprit of why it was running like crap. But, during 8 years of riding, I changed clutch release bearing 3 times, clutch plates once @ 50K, cylinder base gasket went bad at about 75K, stator 3 times(1st time I got aftermarket and it failed withing 3 mos.,(some things have to be OEM for reliability)When I first got bike with less than 1500 miles, rocker cover base gasket was leaking, did rocker gasket set 4 times during 8 yrs., drive belt 3 times, ALOT of tires, a few batteries and alot of oil changes.
NOTE: When I took motor apart, I found that trans gears had "0" wear marks and crankshaft/connecting rods had no play or signs of fatigue for 100K-used nothing but Valvoline 20/50, SAE50 during hot months.
85' FLHTP has 42K. I have replaced stator, starter, starter solenoid, coil, ignition sensor, ALL circuit breakers(3-15A & 1-30A), main battery leads, rear tire, battery, clutch adjuster plate, trans. main shaft seal.
