Maybe 50% of the mircrofiber came off with the wet towel on HOT Pipes. The Easy Off hasn't done much. Any advice?
I did that as well. Just A tiny patch but it is still there. Any knowledge here would be great as well.

I'm watching this thread....easy off on a micro fiber didn't work for me either.....I'm not that concerned since on thursday I'm putting on black ceramic V&H dresser duals and HO slip-ons.....but I'd like to clean my stock pipes before I put them in the attic...

I would , on cold pipes, find a rigid piece of plastic and scrape it with that. Lexan or Plexiglas. Make scrapers out of that stuff all the time for aluminum to get gaskets and sealants off.

I've heard great reviews with "Road Rub"...just need to find a dealer. I found that the chrome cleaner worked great with other boot marks, but for some reason my Red Wing boots leave a much tougher residue on the exhaust.

I am constantly cleaning boot marks off the pipes on the wifes Deluxe. a Copper penny scrapes it right off and will not scratch the chrome. As for the microfiber cloth...I would use a good chrome cleaner and polish. Easy off works...but on COLD pipes only

+1 on the lacquer thinner. It will take off scuff marks and burned on rubber without harming the chrome.
