OK...going to do a load test on my 09 battery this morning and may need to replace it....What would you go with (Brand)? My friend says Yuasa makes most of the batteries today. I can get and Inter-state at cost but in the old days they were just fair (cheap) type. Suggestions?????
Thanks for your input.....Jerry

If you maintained it properly it would be still under warranty being it's an 09 bike. I'd stick with the HD 66010-97C. If not, get the Deka ETX30L which is the same as the HD
Why do you think your 09 needs a battery?...You might want to check your connections...Battery cables...Charging system...It would be unusual for your battery to be dead already without some other issues going on.
I would borrow someones, trickle charger and try that for a day before replacing the battery. Unless you left it set for a year the battery should still be good. Most often as someone has already noted, check you battery cable connections and make sure they are clean and the bolts are tight.
If you have to replace it, the glassmat batteries, last longer than a normal battery and don't discharge as fast. That is a method of construction not a battery brand.
First, well maintained ...cabels OK...warranty is up (figures..almost 40k on her)....Stater sounds like its coming throught the otherside sometimes....Put a charger on it last night and took the charge OK...Just figured I get some input on the brands....HD stock is OK with me but I wanted to put it out there in a question.
i found on one of the local police bikes that the cables were installed such that the weight of the cables were allowing them to loosen under vibration. they need to be oriented so that the weight of the cables pulls down on the fasteners to keep them tight.
OK...good news... battery OK but need a new starter and its covered under warranty seems I have 7 days left till 2 years are up. The HD shop gave me bum info when I checked the first time but the salesman got me the right info...Lucky!
