I see alot of posts about the Dragon, and thought I'd share another great road here in NC. It is 226A also known as the Switzerland loop, or the Diamondback. It is right off the Parkway in Little Siwtzerland, NC. Has something like 200 curves in 12 miles, and it is a loop, so you can start and end in the same place. And if you want a breath taking scenic route, jump on the parkway up to Mt Mitchell. Here are a couple of videos I shot while riding up there this weeken. For the 226 video, the best action starts about 3 minutes in.
Another good road is Moonshiner 28 which runs to the dragon but includes some absolutely great roads with scenic waterfalls and less squids attempting the land speed record. www.moonshiner28.com

I rode Hwy 143 over Roan Mtn. to NC 261. Great curves and beautiful scenery. We also rode 261 to 226 and took that road down to the Blue Ridge Parkway and went down to Mount Mitchell on the parkway. One of the nicest long distance rides I have done.

Thats a great area I went from 226 to 221 to 70w to 80 north. Then to Parkway to Mitchel.
I am telling ya, that 80 north has more twisting turns than any road I have ever been on. And going uphill at the same time. Can't do any more than about 25 mph.
