I keep 42 in mine since I run Metzlers ...every tire is different.....
My rear Metz calls for 50psi and my front calls for 40psi.....I thought that was a tad high so I talked to the tire guy.....he said it's best to run them at the pressure the tire calls for cause they will last longer....less chance of cupping or breaking a bead........HOWEVER...
usually all my tires were rated for the same psi front and back......THIS TIME....the back is 10 psi higher and the bike does seem kinda squirley to me........then I took a real good close look at the tires....the back was made in Germany....the front from Brazil.........ummmmm
what to do as I'm leaving for sturgis in 4 days and now it's sat on a long weekend...
I agree the the OP - my RKC does not feel good solo at 40 lbs - squirrely is the word. OK for 36/38. 2 up at 40 is good as is 38 but 36 feels a bit heavy. Also worth mentioning that my Dyna is less sensitive than the RKC.
Another poster seemed surprised that anyone could notice a 4 lb difference. I can notice it easily on every bike I've ever ridden but my RKC is the only one I've ever had (in over 30 years riding) where I could notice 2 lbs difference.
