Exactly what I did. I installed a set of these for my daughter when she was five.

My son is currently 7 and he has been riding with me for a couple years now. At first just around the block a couple times. Now that he is a bit older, I'll take him out at 55 MPH and up to 45 minutes or so at a time. He tells me when he climbs off that "That was the greatest ride ever"

Good on ya, Dad. That's a memory she'll never forget. When I was little, maybe 10, my older cousin offered to take me for a ride on his new Fat Boy, but my Mom said "no, motorcycles are dangerous." Not even just up and down the street. I never forgot that. Now I ride my own. I sure showed her, huh?

With that being said, check out the child riding belt...

I rode once with a couple who had their little 7 yr old on the back of the bike with Dad. She even had her own little grips to hold on to.

I had my first ride at 8 or 9. By 10 I had my first Honda Mini-Trail 50. I've not been without a bike for very long since. Get them accustomed to riding early is what I say.

Good on Ya, put here on the back and enjoy every minute of it. I've taken my neice and nephew on rides when they were 7 and 9. And that was with permission from a " motorcycles are very dangerous" thinking mom/sis in law.
