Leaky carb.....

I have an '01 XL1200C that leaks from the carb a bit. I know this is kinda standard but, how much is too much?? Is there a way to stop it?

While it may be normal for some older Harleys to drip some oil, leaking gas is never acceptable unless you're looking to cook something.

If the carb is original it's over due for a rebuild. Rebuild kits are cheap, about $15.00, and it's an easy job. You can find a rebuild kit HERE.

+1 on the rebuild, it's very easy to take the float bowl off and spray some carb cleaner up and around the float, might be something causing the float needle to stick. Protect the fuel tank.

My bad.......I didn't clarify the leak. it's oil not gas.

That's what it looks like. I can drive for about 30 mi. and will see a few drops of what looks like oil from the bottom of the cover. it doesn't smell of gas so what could it be??
