cowards suck
However, loud, heated political conversations in a bar will draw attention. Not saying that any consequences should come of it, and not saying anything about this particular incident, as I was not there...just sayin', that's all.
Sure kicking his a$$ is gonna make ya feel better, but what if it wasn't him?
If it was him, you beat his a$$ and he calls the cops on you, you are now the bad guy and will probably end up with a assault charge on your record.
I'd think of the possible repercussions on that one, here in MN we have finally gotten a state wide carry permit going and one assualt charge will take that permit away.
I plan on keeping my permit for many years.
You find a witness, call the cops, but its probably getting to late anyway, besides they're probably not gonna do much if he's a local and your not.
fwiw I'd just stay away or if you do go back there, think of what your saying that the locals can hear, and keep a eye on your bike.
Been different maybe if you walked out and he was doing it, I have the feeling he would have resisted your attempts to keep him there while you waited for the cops...

Just a thought.

I said it before, and I'll say it again. Talk to the bartender. I bet money that he and his buddies have been drunk since then and talked about it, loud and boisterous. A bartender hears all, and knows all. And even if he is a regular, most decent folks don't like vandals.
Now be honest. If you found out, right now, that he was the one who did the damage, and he MEANT to do it, not an accident. What now? Kill him? Beat the **** out of him?
I got drunk one time and kicked a door in, because I knew the man inside had stolen something from a family member. Something worth about $20,000. I waved a 44 S&W around, all bad ***. Then I found out there was a whole room full of people, looking at me, all wide eyed. I didn't want to hurt but one of them, but was caught in a quandry. What to do? I just ran my mouth and left. That was LONG ago.
Point is, do your homework. Know what you are getting into. There's a time and a place for everything. Leave no witnesses, not even your own friends..
**** happens. Might be a good idea to just let it go, and call it a lesson learned. But that is up to you.
