I would never get physical with anyone just because they were wearing a shirt I disagreed with. I believe in live and let live. (wait...that's pretty danged liberal of me)
Yes, it was just a figure of speech, I really wouldn't hit someone because of that. I just hated the mans arrogance to wear that in public. Come to think of it, I might just get me one made up with the opposite phrase.
he does this in every thread, he knows he won't have to look long for a fight on an HD forum spouting a liberal agenda and saying he wants to knock a guys teeth in for wearing that shirt (so WTF didn't you? because you had absolutely no intention of knocking anyones teeth anywhere and you know it that's why.). not sure why but i've seen many threads where he gets into it politically and eventually he'll get his mark and they'll take the topic into 20 pages of nonsense.
What are you talking about man. It was a figure of speech to show how stupid arguing over politics is, and wearing stupid stuff like that in public. I enjoy a world of political diverseness, but it needs to work both ways. BTW, I've only talked politics in one other thread. In this thread, the op brought it up that he didn't agree with a dudes politics, and I told him that bar is not a place for politics. Just telling him that not all are conservative and not all are liberal, and a bar is no place for that discussion. Alcohol never mixes with politics, or even religion, for that matter. Are you pissed because I didn't agree with your assessment of the stage II kit in the stage I thread? Chill, have a beer or smoke some weed.

I would'nt ride my bike to the bar. I would be paranoid as hell someone would touch it. And after a few beers i start eye balling everyone lol.
+1
your bike + alcohol + you = not a good combination
your bike + alcohol + other people = worse combination
your bike + alcohol + other people + unfamiliar territory = horrible combination
your bike + alcohol + other people + unfamiliar territory + political discussion = you might as well have introduced a bull elephant and a mountain lion to the mix.
no, im not at all blaming the OP for what happened. but... it does seem like the *exact* kind of situation i generally do my damnedest to avoid.
i agree with others who said that your window of opportunity for handling the situation (however you wanted to do it) has passed. i also agree that violence wouldn't've solved anything, and it would probably have just made things worse.
Not saying it's right, but I would bet that the guy was drunk as hell, tripped in front of your bike allowing the bottle to fly up and crash down on your tank and he ripped the turn signal off trying to stop his self from falling. I have seen drunks do some pretty spectacular **** before... hell I have done plenty of stuff I could never re-create sober.
That or maybe the guy thought you looked like his ex boyfriend and got insanely jealous seeing you there. It was a "new" bar right? It could be the new gay bar... Stick with your normal watering hole.
I would just file a report with local law enforcement. An assault charge, one night in jail and a fine aren't worth two hours of detailing your bike and $100 turn signal. Let it go and get on with your life. Contrary to popular belief, bikes don't have feelings and it is going to live.
This sounds reasonable. If he really wanted to fck up your bike, it would be on the ground, or at least a nice dent where the bottle smashed the tank.
my advice would be to just let it go. a $50 turn signal hardly seems worth stalking someone.
i hear ya. and agree. the lens ended up costing $4. and i gave the bike its yearly bath, so in the end i'm out $4 and a little time.
ultimately, my ego isn't bruised, so its not a big deal... i'm pushing 40 so i know some stuff about some stuff. however, i'm pretty hardcore about leaving the world better than i found it, so educating this kid would make me feel i've done my part. how i educate him is still open-ended, but i doubt there will be violence... unless he demands it?

i can dig it. sounds like you have a good handle/attitude on how youre approaching it. for what it's worth, i hope you get some sort of acceptable closure.
personal anecdote:
a few years ago my roommate called me while i was out of town to tell me he had to pick my bike up off its side -- some apartment complex kids had played on it and knocked it over. i never realized i could get so mad, particularly over something as trivial as personal possessions. ended up coughing up my insurance deductible and had to just put it out of mind since there was nothing else i could really do. completely sucks, but thats how it goes sometimes. :/
I would lose it and smash his f'n face in .... I beat up my best friend when we were kids cause he was throwing pebbles at my new bicycle. We were never friends again ...

So you can be arrogant too? liberal hypocrit..
I'd wear the other guy's shirt proudly.
Back to op's question of what would I do.....Kick his *** from one end of the parking lot to the other. Then shove a Miller High Life bottle up the deepest part of his ***. At's what I'd do. Yep. I hate drunken runts.
Next time you see him in there just walk up and calmly ask why the ***** he disrespected your putt and you. His initial reaction should give you a pretty good clue as to whether or not it was him. If it was....Clock him!
