I'm sure the aerodynamic play a key roll in the fuel mileage of my Ultra Classic but one thing I know for sure is, after the fuel gauge pass the 1/2 tank marker you had better watch it very closely because the second half seems to go a lot faster than the first half.

I don't believe the windshield is any less aerodynamic than your body.
As well, your body is often curved forward making more of a sail. The shield is slightly tilted rearward...
