Default Gas mileage question

I am just wondering what you guys are getting for gas mileage when you run at 80/85 mph at 3200/3400 rpm. I am getting 35mpg is that in a good range ?

Running a 88, stage one with a 5 speed

It would be next to impossible to compare . I have a Street Glide 103 and never run 80 miles an hour long enough to figure mileage . On the other hand I get 50 / 52 on a trip on average .

Considering the engine speed you're running that's probably to be expected.

that sounds pretty good.

I often run the 400 miles from PHX to LA- it took a few years for me to figure out that at 85 the decreased MPG required an extra fuel stop...which chewed up all the time gained.

so now I run the speed limit 75 in AZ, 70 in CA and stop once...and get there in about the same elapsed time.

Did a 3000 mile trip to NY in June, at 84mph for 700 miles got 38mpg, dropped it back to 80mph for the remainder of the trip and got 41mpg. This was 1 up with a fully loaded t-bag.

5.4 L / 100KM at a steady 130 KM/H two-up with rucksack on the TourPak rack. Throttle handle is 1/4 open at that speed before CC is engaged.
