Default Thinking Like Mikeeeee

Recently I decided that my FXDI (Super Glide) was just about the perfect bike for me, If I finally get my re-made BAR seat tomorrow and it works. all I need to do is get rid of the 11" Progressive Heavy duty shocks (they ride too stiff) and I'd have the perfect bike.
Went to "Hot Dog" night at my dealer tonight. Went inside and sitting there was the most beautiful Smokey Gold 2004 Road Blide (6600 miles) with an asking price of $16,294. Not sure what extras if any it has as it was right at closing time.
I know it's prob. stupid, as all of my riding thus far has been around town or around the county. But Gawd, that bike sure was purty and looked so comfortable and so great, etc,. etc., etc.
Anyway, what do you all think of the price??? Warranty on it through July 2006.
TIA, Art

Art, I'd check into the extras on that thing. That's getting close to MSRP for a new one (about $1000 less) and you gotta figure that unless you can pay cash for it, the interest rate will be higher for a used one. Like I said, check the extras and see how the math adds up.

Thanks, I've got the dif at closer to 2000 -2500. It has EFI and I don't have to pay the set-up fee, crate fee and all those little things that add up so quickly. The real question, I guess, is what she'll give me more for my FXDI and what the diff. would be. My interest rate would go up 1%.
I'm still thinking about the RG in my mind, but have to reming myself, there's always tomorrow. Thanks, Art

I have a problem with that myself. When I want something, I want it now.

Art - You are correct - there is always tomorrow and there is always another bike BUT - As a guy who just traded an 05 for an 05 and took some lumps (Not too many but took some) I give you permission - You might lose some money but if it gives you more satisfaction think of it as funding the industry that gives you pleasure

Art,

You are right about the difference between your used Glide and a new one. Plus if it has any extras at all you will be that much more ahead.

I think you would really love the Roadglide. If you want to check one out you can just scoot on down to Effingham or Charleston and check out mine.

Go for it!!!!!!!!!!

Kess, I was going to ask your opinion. Thanks for the permission, Terry, Thanks for the offer. Since this is used, I think I can get to ride it.
Does anyone have any experience with the Fairing Lowers? Any idea of what they cost. They're done in Smoky Gold and match the paint scheme of the bike.
Thanks, Art

I just removed the fairing lowers from my Ultra tonight and must say the difference was remarkable. It's just too hot here in Arizona this time of year. The top bar of the engine guard also makes a great footrest for an added riding position. I don't know what they cost though. They are very easy to remove, just 3 bolts. When the weather turns cooler I'll put them back on.
