honest opinion please
I had an 02 Low Rider and traded it on an 02 E Glide Classic thinking the wife would ride more and do some touring. But she didn't and won't. Here where I live in south central Pa. there are alot of twisties to ride with my buddies. So I have been dickering with the dealer on a trade. I sat on a Night Train , bad fit seat and bars. Sat on a Wide Glide with apes on it and it was not bad. Just was not crazy about the looks ( White). Then I sat on an 04 V Rod , it had a great seat and bars that fit me to a tee. It only has 6500 miles on it. Might be able to trade even up. But my buddies say they can't stand the V Rod because it is a water cooled bike and not a true Harley. What do you guys think am I making a mistake. Be Honest.

Is your name on your bank account or the names of your "friends"?? If you like the V-Rod then get it. They are sweet machines. Then find a group of riding partners that want to ride, not judge you because of what you ride.

If you want a classic Harley, it's not the one. If you want to go fast & handle better, go for it. Personally I don't care for them but a lot of riders hate studs too

Do you really care if someone else says your bike isn't a real HD because it's water cooled?! Do you ride a Harley because other people prefer to see you on a HD? I doubt it. Go with what fits and what you want...

I must have missed a paragraph or something, what's this about not being a "real" Harley? The V-Rod is as Harley as you can get, not classic Harley, just Harley.
Ask your friends what exactly their trying to tell you! I can almost guarantee you that the V-Rod engine is the fore-runner of all the future Harley Motors.
