Just bought a new bike last week. Dealer told my that automatically makes me a member of the National HOG. I did not receive any paperwork pertaining to HOG. When I go to web site, I can't find any links for Harley owners of new bikes. I created a profile but that looks like all I can do. Thought about calling dealer where I bought the bike but they had a bit of an attitude when I called them about not signing a paper so I could get it registered in NY. Anybody have experience with this. Thanks.
HD's National HOG # is 1-800-258-2464 - you can call them w/your VIN to verify membership & see if they've rec'd your application from the dealer. Probably takes a few weeks to process & you'll get a pkg in the mail w/member card.
thanks to all. Not stressing at all Just curious because Dealer gave almost no info.... verbal or otherwise. I had no idea what to expect or how long it takes. Insurance company gives discount for joining a group (go figure) and they want proof of membership to keep the discount on there. I am just trying to tie up loose ends.
I've been a member for 6 years and it takes a few weeks like has been said. If you are a AT&T user you can get 18% discount on your monthly bill because you are a HOG member. It's a good savings. Well worth the annual fee for membership.

check with your local dealership. many (most?) sponsor a local chapter. good place to meet other riders, go for rides (poker runs, toy runs, etc).
Also many dealership offer discounts to members of the local chapter. The discounts I have received have far exceeded the cost of joining the local chapter. But then again, I may be buying things I wouldn't have considered without a discount.
I'm also a life member, so I no longer pay a national annual membership.
