Boneshaker.
That boy had a set of brass ones him doing that first freeway run , wasn't it around 110+mph when they caught him and he wasn't done winding out second gear yet ?

How about rooting around in the tire pile outside a truck stop at 2 am looking for an old inner tube to cut in half for hillbilly chap's because the fog came and your freezing .

If you were lucky enough to have fiberglass bags , using one for a cooler for the beer at the party

Going to a weekend run/party and the farmer was still chasing the cows out of the field where it's going to be , you had to pick the spot for your tent before dark ..

Your bike was the Christmas tree that year ......

You had more bike parts in your closet than cloths ..

Leaning to the left when it rained so the worst of the rooster tails didn't get ya

Vice grips were MANDATORY !! the more the better .

Carrying a 4' hose on road trips because a lot of farm tractors still used gas ....

Being way too cool coming to a stop light and those bell bottoms caught and the foot didn't get down in time ....

Blow the rear tire out in the boonies and some old farmer comes by helps you load the bike in that rusted out pickup , feeds you dinner at table with his family and we'll see about broke motorsickle in the morning ...
Where have people like that gone to ...?

Tossing the sleeping bags down on the lawn at a rest stop late and the sprinklers come at 3am , one directly under a buddies bag

Oh ya tossing the bags down and finding later it's the time of year the Tarantula's are real busy looking for love . That story is epic .......

This could go one for a long time oh man ......

Got a feeling we gonna be bunch of melancholy old guys for a while , I'm going to go do a few shot's Jack Daniels just for old times sake .

Trying to find an Amoco station so you could fill up with white gas.

100 miles left to get home and it is as cold as a gut shot wolf hound bitch dog carrying 6 suckling puppies up the side of a mountain in a blizzard and you stuff your leather jacket with newspapers or a open catalog just to keep the wind off your chest.

Remember when:

Biker chicks didn't look like your grandmother

Easyriders magazine was Righteous

Supercycle,Outlaw Biker, & Iron Horse were ALMOST as righteous

A bagger was an ugly chick

"Dont F***with me" wristbands

Bike shops were for MEN,no kids or women shopping for toys or fashions

A Sportster was a big bike

You didn't get charged for a nut or bolt

Someone would take delivery of a new bike & come pushing it in 1/2 hour later

Z-bars were commonplace

Making most of Ur own parts....

Pipe clamps and elc tape, would fix a lot of problems..

Buffing out the side cases every month for a shine..

Oil getting slung all over your new denim jacket. from the rear sprocket.

I did get a point file,, works better than matchbook...

parts breaking all the time...

Oil on the floor where she peed

Praying U'd make it back home every time U went for a ride, without the need of a pickup truck...

Kicking that Batch to start her...

Yeppers.. rattle cans were good....

YEA... The good ole days.....

I remember when Sportsters were ideal for recently returned Vets and recently released felons instead of just right for your middle-aged wife to learn on.

Must be evolution is speeding up.
