Default annoyed....

Really annoyed at a US based parts dealer who for the time being shall remain nameless until i get really p1ssed..(not a forum sponsor).

Seems they will only ship internationally a part or parts to me if I order more than $300 worth of stuff, but it is me paying the shipping so what does it matter how much i order !!!!

I don't get it...If i wanted to spend $300 bucks I would buy the part i want here! so much for online shopping......It took forever to find the headlight i want at a good price, now i cant get it unless i buy something else i don't need.....

I'll have to find someone here at home with a US address (shipping is free in the US) and then have it forwarded from there to here...grrrr P.I.T.A!

much to my disappointment the supplier in question IS a sponsor here....

I am not one slag off in public, so I will publicly keep the supplier to myself for the moment, pending further discussion with them.....

SteveO and Foodog, I really appreciate your offers of assistance. I will keep you posted if I need it.

I did everything through Zanotti and I was happy with them until someone besides my usual service guy started emailing me back and all of a sudden they wanted to start screwing me on international shipping prices. That's when I started comparing shipping prices on my last order and I found that what Zanotti wanted to charge me $60 S&H on, cost me only $15 S&H through Eric at HD Pipes.

When you live abroad, I have found that it's usually not the best value to import through online shopping. You usually need to deal with somebody through email - send an email, have them quote prices on the parts and shipping and then make the transaction. It's not necessarily the fastest way, but it has always saved me a lot of money. Eric has always been pretty good to me. Decent prices and never tried to make an extra buck on the shipping. Shoot him an email next time you want something:

Shipping isnt the issue, they wont get out of bed and pack and ship internationally for less than a $300 purchase.

Part i want is 169 + shipping, which I worked out for myself as they recommended using the info and usps link they provided.

the shipping cost is fine, that + the 169 still represents a good saving for me, they just dont wanna ship for a purchase of less than $300 bucks which I honestly don't get. If I order more stuff, they spend more time packing it, and my shipping cost potentially increases as a result...

The discussion in reason with them continues.....

In most cases, the retailers set their own policies on shipping. Not the buyers. It would be interesting to find out why they will not ship if the buyer is paying all of the shipping and handling cost.

I would be hard pressed to stick with only one particular retailer in a case like this. What's so special about the un-mentioned named supplier?

Nothing "special" about these guys, they are simply the only ones I can find that stock the particular Headlight i want for the price. I am in no crazy rush to get it, if i have to wait 1,2,3 weeks for it to arrive its not a problem, I just wanna buy the dang thing and have it sent, its the principal here.

Me give you money, you give me headlight, ok, i pay for post guy no problem, you send......

Hell, i'll even pay the $3.95 exchange rate fee if thats what they're scared of.....

A couple of members have very generously offered to assist with receiving and forwarding, and I will avail myself of their generosity if necessary, but seriously, why should someone else be put out because of a policy that so far has no demonstrated merit to speak of?
If the supplier has a bigger issue here that has fathomable reason then just tell me, I'll understand! I dont need a "buy a minimum of $300 or **** off" attitude..

i'm ranting now aren't i......sorry

Well...no minimum $ order with HD Pipes or anybody else I've ever ordered from, for that matter. I did run into a thing with Zanotti, though, where they wanted to charge me almost $50 to ship a $10 part.
