If it were me, I'd ditch the sportbike garb when riding a harley. If you want to continue wearing it go right ahead. It's a free country.

I was out Sunday before last. It's 90 degrees and muggy. Pulled up beside this guy on a red heritage springer softail. He had black leather jacket gloves, chaps and black full face helmet. Yeah it was sprinkling a bit, but what ever floats your boat. He was taking a left into the harley dealer parking lot where the "hogs" were assembling for their weekly ice cream run. Wear whatever you want, but for me? I just don't like sweating my *** off.

The only gear anyone will be looking at is you bike. Wear what makes you comfortable, as long as it isn't shorts and sandals. They frown on that here.

Forget what these people say! Roll up to your local scooter bar, walk in and ask them what they think of your riding gear. I am sure you will get some real interesting "points of view"

PS. be sure to keep your helmet on when doing this.

been riding for a long time, thru the years I've worn it all. Right now my daily jacket is a Joe Rocket Alter Ego, because I can wear it to work when its cool in the am and with a few zippers I can make it a mesh jacket I'll actually wear home when its hot. You wouldn't believe the crap I got about wearing that out to Sturgis from everyone at the party this year at the campground. But on those cool sunny fall days nothing feels better than having the sun on the back of my old ragged Brooks leather jacket. JMO

Really....you must wear assless chaps and fingerless gloves, or the cool Harley riders won't talk to you.

Seriously though, you're gonna have to get used to riding like it's in slow motion. Harley's are incredibly slow, though you'll certainly be styling, and grown-up ladies will find your new bike much more comfortable and titillating. *****, or speed, which is more important?
