I have both an HD Ultra and a BMW sport tourer; got used to riding with good protective gear so I wear a full face Arai, Sidi boots, Olympia Mesh jacket, and kevlar lined jeans regardless of which bike I am on or what group (HOG or BMW) I am riding with. Personally, I don't give a s**t what anyone else thinks about my riding attire. If it isn't comfortable to me, I won't wear it.

If you're comfortable with it, rock it. We don't all have to be sheeple with the fashion police watching over this topic.

I have one of those also, but as you can see from the sig pic I've been wearing an HD half this summer.

You can get a 20% discount on fingerless gloves, chaps, and 1/2 helmets if you tell the HD dealership what you are currently wearing.

Seriously, I dress nearly identical to you: Full face, Tourmaster armoured jacket, leather gloves, cowboy boots. Someone above mentioned you would get laughed at if you dressed like this. You will only get laughed at if you are on a Sportster.

Enjoy your Road King. I love mine.

i too wear my sport bikish gear... sometimes...
I have a scorpion F/F white... Scorpion all in one armored jacket, big armored gloves.....
if i am on the express way, or a considerably longer ride, that gear goes on... Its all white, black accents... LOL,,, I seriously look like an Imperial Storm Trooper!!!!
If i am just going on a local ride... I have gone to mesh/leather glover, t shirt and a 3/4 fulmer v2 easy rider helmet!!

but it is true.. thos jackets and helmets are engineered for you to be leaning forward...
when you sit up right on your RK, the jacket will push up on your helmet, and you will use your neck muscles alot more to hold your head up and back.... you will feel it the first lil while... like working out again after you stop... all those muscles you havent used get real sore...
good luck...
ps,
get a 3/4.... regular gloves, and a decent mesh or leather jacket..

Truly, I don't really care what anyone thinks and I'll wear whatever I want. But I am curious what Harley enthusiasts think.
You won't fit in with the PIRATE CLUB if you wear all that stuff...

Although you could have a wreck two blocks from your house, I don't feel like it's a major event everytime I go for a ride like I need to suit up for the Isle of Mann race. Sometimes I just hop on the Ol' RoadKing to run for a meal or get something from the local Home Depot. On long rides I do wear a black Tourmaster 3/4 jacket.

Wear what you already have, man. Change as you see fit. Hell, if your woman is like mine, she'll be buying herself stuff before you even get her legs over the Road King....that's kind of what they do....

She'll dig the King as compared to the Ninja, as will you. You will be amazed how many miles you will stack on the first year!

When you get your King, post some pics! Miss my RK sometimes

It's 100% your choice, if you live in one of the free states, and mostly your choice in the others.

I wear sunglasses and, other than going to work I usually wear boots and jeans. I have a helmet for times when I might go into really heavy traffic or ride when the deer are moving a lot. I don't know why you'd want to wear all of that stuff on a Harley - I assume sporbikers really wear it to look like racers.

And you will stop fitting in with the "fake racer wannabe" club if you wear it on a Harley.
