I did start with a cheap Honda in the early 90's, because I didn't have a choice, but I still haven't dropped a bike.

I cut my teeth on dirt bikes in the 70's and metrics in the 80's...I dumped the dirt bikes plenty but like you have never dropped a street bike....yet

no offense - but, I hate people giving that advice. you should get what you want and enjoy it.

Take a rider course MSF or whatever it is the Harley offers nice bike don't worry to much on trying to fit in it's your ride, ride within your comfort zone.
