Recently, my wife and I showed up on one of the local
Thursday night get togethers. Man, there were a lot of
bikes. So as I'm checking out the bikes, I realize these
guy's have dumped quite a few bucks on their rides. I
thought I spent a lot, not even close when comparing.
What is the average money spent on a bike after delivery,
say for the first 2-years?
hate to be the bearer of bad news Mike , but it doesn't stop after two years , in fact a lot of times after a few years is when a person decides to do a something radical and then the money really flies.
Just don't forget , sometimes being creative and resourceful is better and cheaper than buying a bolt on off the shelf.
edit
I'm over the 2700 mark on my latest adventure , owned it almost two months I already know I need at leat 3 more to even come close to what I want to get done this yuear
Man!!! I just added up everything that I've done to the bike in the last six months and I'm fast approaching the $3,000.00 mark.[:@] Jeez, she's an expensive mistress.
Sadly - all my extra money is still going into gear - another pair of boots, leathers, good rain gear and a 3/4 helmet stil needed - grrrrrrrrr..
I need $$ by Oct to get Lindby to put on the crash bars I want @ Biketoberfest, $400 more for the lights I want to mount on those bars.
More money for a nice set of saddlebags, etc.
I can see an additional $3k going into the bike.

I bought my "basket case" (salvage/rebuildable) for 9700 bucks last april. Have NO ideal how much I actually have in it now. I don't want to know!!! My emphasis in making changes is primarily enhancement of safety and function with "Looks" quite secondary!
I know this goes against the grain of many bikers, and I really DO admire the artistry of some of the bikes I see. But I'm concerned primarily with safety (seeing and being seen), usability (having the dammmm thing start in the morning), and utility (being able to carry a passenger and some luggage).
The main thing that any of us can aspire to is, in my opinion, enjoyment!!! That has a different definition for each of us. What's it worth to ya'???
