Hi all. I was just at a local HD dealer and was thinking about buying a set of these pegs: http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/g...bmLocale=en_US
The guy at the parts counter said that they don't sell the little wear pegs separately, that when they wear out you have to replace the entire set of pegs. I'd love to think that he's full of crap. I mean that's the whole point in the little wear peg, to let it get worn out and then just replace it rather than tear up the whole peg. Is he full of crap or is he right? The description even says "Featuring a replacement wear peg..." I think they mean a "replaceable" wear peg but... The parts guy even said "That's the way Harley Davidson gets your money. By making you have to order the whole set of pegs again." Huh? Maybe a better question: Anyone have a link to a set of aftermarket pegs that has replaceable wear pegs (similar to what is shown in above link) that will fit my '09 Street Bob? Thanks in advance for input.
It states in the link 'replacement wear peg'.......curious..
Yeah, I think they meant "replaceable" instead of "replacement." I looked at the downloadable .pdf file and it even gives a Buell part number for the wear peg: C0255.02A8
Oh, i thought it was to lay down a big spark show on turns!!!! :]
I think there is a metal (magnesium I think) that lays out wild sparks. That would blow people's mind rounding a corner and crap loads of sparks come flying out.
I decided to not give a crap and instead ordered a 76 piece tap and die set today. I'll make my own dang wear pegs and will tap the footpegs I have for them.
Old thread but, has anyone else seen or know where you get pegs with the wear peg on them? Is that the technical name for them? I have seen them before on other bikes, and had a set on an old metric I had but can't seem to find any other than in the original link... I'd really like to have some for my bike.
Thanks for input.

Google 'Buell Footpegs' and you'll find 'em for cheap. I got a couple pairs. Put a pair on a sportbike for an in inch more legroom. I also run w/o the feelers in the pegs so I gave mine to the shop.
Oh, and it's titanium that throws the best sparks.
