Default Honda? American?

Nice guy in the neighborhood caught me pulling the Harley in the drive after work last night and said he finally took the plunge. I asked what he bought and he said an American bike. So I said, Harley, Victory, Indian? He said Honda. I looked at him kinda funny and he said Honda USA built in Ohio. He then asked about my pipes because he likes how my bike sounds. I told him he will not get that sound out of a Honda and he looked a bit surprised. It sounds like the dealer made a point to tell him he was buying an American bike.

Who cares about owners??? If they hire Americans to actually build something within the USA and hire A-m-e-r-i-c-a-n-s to work in their factories at a living wage, I'm good to go on that.

So you would consider Honda and American bike? Not looking for any arguments, just wondering what folks think here.

Did ya no that Honda is going back to Japan?
Ask someone that owns a Honda if he can buy a new one. I understand they will be closed down for a year.

I don't care who builds it, nor where it's built. I care about whether or not it's a quality product. USA can make quality, they can also produce crap; same with any other country.

I'm thinking an American built Honda is a bit better than a Honda built in Japan simply for the the fact they use American workers and that paycheck stays here. But don't think for a moment that this is a wash. The millions and millions of profits made from the sales do go to Japan to be spent and invested there.

Huge difference.

This is such a mess to me. I see the side of a foreign company that puts Americans to work, but I also see the importance of American companies succeeding, but to farm labor overseas for an American company to succeed doesn't do much for the worker bee.

Basically I don't know what the hell to think anymore.
