Anyone have any experience with the various motorcycle sunglasses out there that change darkness with the amount of available light or UV rays? Some of the reviews I've read state that most don't get dark enough. I had photogrey perscription glasses that were pretty good. They certainly weren't dark sunglasses, but that wasn't they're intent. Would appreciate any comments. Thanks.
When looking for sunglasses, I decided against the transitionals. I called SportRx (they sell non-Rx too) http://www.sportrx.com/.
The guy I spoke to was a optometrist, was very friendly, knowledgeable about rider needs, and spent a lot of time explaining the benefits and detriments of all the options.

I love my Wiley-X glasses.
It's true the prescription ones don't get as dark as sunglasses but I found them adequate.
Recently added a pair of full sunglasses from them. Transitional ones now for cloudy days or night.
That said, they are a fantastic product and a great company. I have the Brick model. The best pair of glasses I've ever owned.
Must call them for Rx orders.
They'll bend over backwards to make your glasses right. Ask for Tiare in the Rx department.
I'm tired of switchin' from goggles to prescription glasses.
What did your optometrist charge you? Mine doesn't seem to wanna deal with my goggle frames...

I had an eye exam to get a new prescription then Gigna Healthcare for new everyday glasses with the new Transition sun sensor lenses.
Took my HD Profile goggles in and they had the same lenses made for them - about $110 for the lenses only. The coating runs about $80 through them.

Anyhow, I've got H-D profile performance with photochromatic lenses. They say UV protection, but not at what level. I've had them all summer, they work good. I've been wearing sunglasses for about 20 years, so my eyes have gotten sun sensitive without. These don't seem to get as dark as my other glasses are, but my eyes aren't bothered.
I have a pair of Panoptx transitional glasses. The lenses never changed enough to use in the sun. I use them at night now and have other sunglasses for daytime riding.
