Carb Problems
I have a '01 softail custom(twin cam) with a carb problem I cant run down. If you crack the throttle at idle it will occasionally backfire through the carb.Other than this, the bike runs perfect. I have worked on cars and jap bikes for years, but never a Harley and I'm hesitant to get too deep without some input from someone who's been there before.

what comes to mind is bad accelerator pump, intake seal leak, low speed jet not big enough.
if this has just started to be a problem i would look into the intake seals first and go from there.
and as always it would be good to have a factory service manual.
