Angry shuting down

i have a 1996 flhri that will run for about trn miles then shut off like you turn the key off, but will restart if you cycle the key a few times

sounds like an ECM problem...

2 kids got it. Ignition switch is bad.

Might not be the switch. Is it fuel injected? If so it could be the ECM as mentioned above, also check grounds.

A 1996 prob. doesn't have ECM, I betcha there are problems in your ignition switch, maybe loose wires.

I have a similar problem and have been directed to the Bank Angle sensor which seems to be located within the Turn Signal Module. Havent tried it out yet but its a thought.
