Wow! I went to this site and all I can say is "wow". There are much more interesting stories and human angst there than on this forum... beats the hell out of 90% of the posts here. Reality TV should pick up on this... it would be a killer show.

No... I like loud pipes because they sound good to me and I've asked all of my neighbors if they were ok with that... every last one of them said that they were ok with them, but would I cut back on blowing my air horns in the garage area. LOL
Got a bit of news for them. Children are not frightened by my bike. Kids wave at me all the time, some will do the thumbs up thing, and kids in a car will look over with a great big smile on their faces. Was putting gas in the bike one day and a mom and little boy about 6 or so came out of the store to get in their car at the pump next to mine. They stopped and kept standing there watching me till I finally spoke to them. Mom said the little boy would not get in the car till I had started my bike for him. I finished up, started the bike and revved it up a few times and by golly there is such a thing as an ear to ear grin. The kid waved to me and jumped in the car. Mom said thanks and I left.

+1, Our long time neighbors grandson 5 always comes over and askes to sit on mine and start it up so he can hear the pipes. He grins from ear to ear. Future rider there for sure.
I think " young children " means still hanging off the tit age , any child that can walk by themselves LOVE loud noise any parent knows this are you kidding me Harlys are a magnet kids are drawn to them .
The prevailing attitude in their organization can be summed up in one sentence:"Everyone around me should be forced to change in accordance with my wishes."Just look at their message board. We have one person who bought a townhouse right next door to a factory that was already there. Now this person wants the factory to change their work hours. Then we have another person who spent their entire life savings on a home next to some folks who like to ride Atvs. Guess who's at fault? Yep, the ATV riders. It seems to me that in their minds, the only life any of us should be allowed to have is to get up and go to work, then come home and watch television at a federally regulated volume.

I like to toss this one out to that type ," I'm offended by your being offended for thinking I shouldn't be offended because what offends you should top what offends everyone else . " looks on faces are priceless something I picked up from that crap my ex wife spouted at me at 2 am all the time .
Don't know about anymore but it used to be a free country , if your free to put yourself in or around something that offends you , your also free to get out of my f*cking airspace too . Never had an issue telling those kind of people that .
Our great country has swung too far into the all about me & I want zone with big brother and control of our lives , Orwell's " 1984 " anyone ?
PS what do want to bet a good majority in there have degree's in Liberal Arts ?

When my next for neighbor stops playing his drums until 10:00 PM. I will put on quieter mufflers. Doesn't help that he's a crappy drummer.
I figure if it doesn't disturb the sleep of my own family then it must not be that bad. And we have an infant granddaughter staying with us.
