Yeah back in May I was out riding all day and was about a haft mile form home and just as I tuned and then cracked on it I felt a burning on my lower chest and was like WTF? I just had a Tee on at the time. By the time I got home I was light headed and took my shirt off and there was two big sting marks and I was all red. WOW that sucked and glad it happend so close to home since I had a reaction to the stings and did not feel good the rest of the day.

I left my home and got to the main road, rode about two blocks and I feel something pinching my back. It started to really hurt so I turned around and went back home. I got into the garage and took off my vest and shirt. A yellow jacket fell down to the floor and was starting to fly away. I stomped on the bugger.

I go into the house and looked at my back in the mirror. That sucker got me four times. After a while I got light headed. I had to set down for a while. When I closed my eyes I felt like I was sitting on one of those spinning rides at the park.

I found out that a bee or yellow jacket sting bite can kill you if your allergic.
They say that after the first sting if you don't get a reaction, the second time you could.

I should have gone to the Hospital when I felt light headed. I was lucky this time.

Here is some info. I got on bee/yellow jacket reactions.

"Those individuals with bee sting allergies should talk to their doctor about taking special precautions, including carrying an injectable form of the drug epinephrine (used to treat anaphylactic reactions) at all times"

I rode my bike to the MSF course and upon entering the classroom and sitting down, I put my helmet on the table in front of me. The guy next to me says, "I see you brought a friend." I said pardon me? And pointed to my helmet. There was a yellow jacket caught in between my face shield and helmet near the pivot point. At least that was one that won't get a second chance.

I've been stung so many times it ain't funny and usually it just causes some itching and swelling.

But one particular time something got me on the back of the neck and 20 minutes later my hands and feet started itching so bad that I had to pull off the road and take my boots off just to dig and scratch. My palms and my feet were a shade of scarlet and it close to an hour before the itching stopped.

Don't know what got me but hope it never happens again.

Holly chit,, none of these sound like any fun... could be darn right dangerous..

rode under a walnut tree yesterday as one fell right to my side,,, told the wife that would not have felt good if it hit one of us in the face at 50mph...

Had a yellowjacket fly up the sleeve of my jacket at 70 mph. This was back in the early '70s and it was one of those fringed jackets like Hopper's in Easy Rider. The jacket sleeve was flapping in the wind so it was beating the hell out of the little guy. He wasn't too happy and let me know it about it 5 or 6 times. My arm looked like Popeye's for the rest of the day. Little bastard.

That happened to my buddy Bob on Mt ST Helen on the way up to Windy Ridge. It was funny watching him try to smash that bug under all that leather. That one incident made my mind up for sure on this..........I am getting a helmet camera. That video would have been priceless.

When I first got my new riding jacket last year, I complained that it fit too close at the neck, and too loose at the cuffs, left the neck alone and had the cuffs taken in. Good to go!!! No more bugs flying into my armpits. One size does not fit all. Take your stuff to a tailor to fit you!!! You'll be glad youd did.
