I've seen the same thing happen but it was when I was in a funeral procession for my uncle. Some jerk could not wait after the light turn green for him and cut off the car infront of me, six cars behind the hurst, and we all had little flags on our cars saying funeral.
he's wrong for cutting people off and endangering peoples lives, flat out wrong, like the guy that turns into you when lane splitting, yeah i'm lane splitting which is illegal but you're trying to hit me with a 3000 LB car and kill me, hardly the same offense. however pulling out and holding up traffic isn't a right you have as a motorcycle rider (and i know you conceded that), and if you did it like you had some authority to do so i could it **** someone off, they could take it wrong. the folks in your ride are grown men and women, they can handle being separated from the group for a few minutes.
a motorcycle ride isn't a funeral procession, you can't compare the two.
i'll get killed for that opinion and i'm not looking for an argument at all, but i think these huge group rides where they block traffic without any right or justification to do so other than they want to, take up an entire freeway and do 10 MPH UNDER the speed limit, don't let folks over to exit the freeway etc... do more of a disservice to peoples perception of motorcycle's than anything else.
So we had a little benefit ride for a co-worker this Sunday. As we came back into town for the 50/50 raffle and door prizes we didn't have the Police escort we had when we started the ride so I pulled out and blocked traffic for about 90 secs so all the bikes could stay together and no out of towners would get lost.
I know that I'm in the wrong for blocking traffic I get that, but this ******* does a u-turn then pulls through a parking lot and cuts off about 5 bikes and jumps in the middle of about 100 bikes.
How big of a hurry could you possibly be in that you couldn't wait 90 secs and that you'd endanger peoples lives to pull out in front of them?
I'm not a violent person but damn about a thousand things raced through my head. The ******* made a nice little gesture as he passed me as well.
I guess I just wanted to vent and I know I don't have the right to block the road but I wonder if he does the same thing to funeral processions?
Would you guys be pissed to or am I just expecting too much of my fellow man?
The guy is prolly a jackass and wanted to prove it. He did. LoL
Every time we go out on the road we find some moron willing to kill us or cripple us to get where they're going 15 seconds quicker. They mostly don't do it out of malice, but ignorance. They'd feel terrible if they ran you over. But, they probably are the first to tell you how dangerous motorcycles are. Gotta be careful all the time.
