One evening several years ago I began to experience some chest pains. I wasn't too awfully bad but I eventually figured I better get to the hospital and get checked out. Fortunately I lived in a small town and in the evening there was not much traffic but on the way the pain began to get a little worse so I was in a hurry to get to the emergency room. Turns out I was in fact having a heart attack. I know now that I should have been smart and called an ambulance but I'm a stubborn old fart and didn't think it would be necessary. Now, had I came up on some biker trying to block the road I would have found a way through or risk croaking right there.
You don't know why the guy was in a hurry. He may have just gotten a call that a family member was in serious trouble at the hospital or any number of other reasons. You were blocking traffic without authority and the group was probably running through stop signs and red lights. Yeah, some guys are just jerks but sometimes there may be a reason for being in a hurry. Next time you should wait for or request a police escort.
Just another reminder that we don't own the road, just cuz we have bikes.
There are so many of us riders out there, that seem to think that everybody is supposed to be keeping an extra watch-out for us, just cuz we have bikes.
The truth is, people are consumed with their own lives and consider themselves just as special as we consider ourselves. Wake up, and ride accordingly!

This is true. Plus the fact that maybe, just maybe, he really had to GO! LoL
We had a police escort for 80% of the ride. Contacted each agency independently and had road blocks and escorts set up for the whole ride something must've come up because they weren't there for the final stages.
I'm just going out on a limb here tho and thinking that if you were having an emergency you wouldn't be flipping the bird and talking what appeared to be **** as you rolled by me.
Remember I fully admit to being in the wrong for blocking traffic. I just don't think his actions were a reasonable response.

I agree, but we really are more special, it's a fact.
No,,,you are right on...people are stupid in general...and that is why we have police and the rest of the government to protect the rest of us...from the stupid and ignorant humans that inhabit this great country....and believe me....an awful lot of people in this country are just plain uncaring and damn stupid....bigal v
I am in no way excusing the ******** behavior. I also didn't know that you lost your police escort to an emergency. We sometimes have unescorted rides where the the traffic is blocked and it always concerns me because of the liability. I always discourage us blocking traffic but sometimes it stills happens.
