For my '99, the engine light is supposed to come on for four seconds, then go out. When the light goes out for another four seconds and comes back on again for eight seconds then goes out again, that is showing an Historical Code. Meaning that, a code was thrown at some time but is not now a current code being thrown. You can only retrieve historical codes with a scanalyser, or so the manual states. Only current codes can be retrieved with the odometer code(s) method. After 50 restarts (for 30 seconds or more) the historical code will no longer show with the engine light...
I have had an occasion or two, where just a pop on starting the engine will cause a code to be thrown. It becomes an historical code on the next start. Seems that when the engine spits and fails to start, it has some interruption in the electrical system or feedback to the ECM. Of course this is just my best guess...
(Those codes you stated (with the 'clr' on the end), are telling you those codes are 'clear' or not present. That's a good thing! )
