It only took 5000 miles or so. I was going down the road and realized my *** wasnt sore and it didnt feel like I was sitting on a sack of concrete anymore! My best guess is about 5ooo miles. Hang in there those of you with the bare bones.

Was it the seat or was it actually your a$$ that finally broke in, lol! I've had the barebones on for about 15K and still feels like the day I got it!
Seems like an awfully long time to ride around with a sore ***. Especially when you start getting monkey butt, as you say, at 100 miles. Glutton for punishment are we?
And I thought it was just me.
It took mine about 1000 miles, but it did soften up. And, like you, I was just riding down the road one day when it occured to me that my tailbone wasn't killin' me.
I love that seat.
I had to "break in" my custom made boots that are 6 years old and fit like a glove. Are they crap. I agree that there are better seats but I dont think they are crap.
