First time I attended was the 50th anniversary in 1990. Not to nitpick, but the official estimate was, up to that point, an all time high of 300,000. I thought prices were very reasonable at that time; I think I paid about 50 bucks a night for a hotel room in Keystone. There were maybe a couple cops on each block in Sturgis, but they were very cool and were not hassling anyone. i don't even remember seeing a cop in Keystone. Good times and great memories of that trip.

I heard that too , I'm going off what the town mayor and the editor of the local newspaper passed along one afternoon at the beer garden . Couple really cool guys had a good time with them . Official basically means ticket stub tallies from all the sanctioned vendors & campgrounds and the PD estimates .

I'll take their word over that as they live it every year and they take into account all the " drift " that doesn't make the official count . Their numbers reflected the overall influx for the Black Hills that week not just the bikes .

As for the cops the they were traveling in packs of 6 or more downtown , I watched several young ladies get rat packed by them for showing some skin and had to bail out a couple buddies involved . Me thinks selective memories here , but outside of town we had a great time .

Regarding tonight's episodes of FTS: Billy Ray Cyrus Vs. Godsmack across the street? Seriously? LOL And Bret Micheals...... WTF? And I couldn't care less about midget wrestling.....I do like Flaunt though. You can't go wrong with booty shaking. I don't really dig any of this politically correct crap though. Always worried about his liquor license and making money. That crap's not for me. If I'm going to ride several hundred miles to a biker rally, I want carnal debauchery, not commercial BS. Show me where the REAL party is.

The only thing I like about Sturgis anymore is the vendors and the shopping for parts that you can only buy there during the rally.
Really don't waste my $ on alcohol and if I was drinking I would wait until I got the campground and get out my own..

Flaunt are some chunky chix.

LIKE ME? .. You have no idea, about me, or how I dress. But, ya, I have to admit, I am kinda partial to clean clothes. Won't deny THAT .. I'm funny that way.

FYI: we were not on a typical Sturgis run...We just happened to be traveling home from Arizona during Sturgis week. We just purchased the motorhome, and it was a welcomed stop for us to enjoy our mini holiday. We purchased this motorhome so we can enjoy our eventual retirement and hiatus down in the southern states during the winter AND have the ability to bring our bikes. This motorhome will NEVER see Sturgis again.

And for your information, I will probably NEVER go to Sturgis week again...I don't like the crowds, I'd much rather be riding than hanging around there. I LOVE the Black Hills and that general area...Just dislike the Rally...Although the entertainment is great (some great names play there) but I am more about the riding than the partying... BUT, again... That's just me.

YOU call THAT bitch'n .. I call that sharing an experience and observation. THAT's what we do here.. right?.. at least the rest of us do....You on the other hand, I have no idea what YOUR motivation is. ... This could be a longshot but, given this last display of beating your chest to show how YOU fit into the 'biker' world ... I'd bet you're more about appearances than anyone so you feel like you fit in to what YOU think 'bikers' are all about.

I couldn't give aratazz about what anyone thinks what bikers are all about...I don't consider myself a 'biker' .. I JUST like to ride!

kicked around about going but still trying to get some vacation days stacked up 1600 miles each way but all the real fun would be in the ride there and back drive through town stay at one of the big places and then ride back to get it all in a week. Weather is a big factor that time of year don't mind some riding in the rain but trying to lay down 500 to 800 miles in a day would be impossible.

Fajita Mike is a mess - see dudes like that at the infield at the speedway during the NASCAR events. Drunks.

Wonder what FTS charges for a beer - $4.50 for a can on Main Steet during Bike Week.

They had the FTS hauler down here - sellin t-shirts during Biketoberfest or BW - can't remember which but I saw it parked on Beach Street. The owner seams a bit full of himself?? But that could be the TV persona? Sutpid dreds but does not want his fake girlfriend to get more ink? No objection to her plastic chest?

Good thought.
Seems as I get older, I hear that more and more.

I thought the same thing. A couple of them aren't that pretty, either. They're all acceptable as average women, but not as women you want to pay to watch shake it.

Right?! Yet he talked that other dancer into getting FTS tattooed on her ***! What a hypocrite! I felt so bad for that girl making a mistake like that. She makes money shaking her *** and now she's gone and screwed it all up because Michael talked her into it and "hooked it up for her." Effing jerk.
