Well, from what I see Gerbing and Harley-Davidson, (which is also Gerbing) looks like the hands down choice. Since Gerbing also seems to have a slightly better warranty . . . the choice between the two is complete.
I use HD heated jacket liner, HD heated gloves for over 4 years with daily riding sometimes for the whole day on the roads. I like to be warmer on my bike ride then I was in the house. Give me a half block then I will turn my heated gear down.
Get a dual heat controller. Put your heated jacket liner on one channel and everything else on the other. With only one channel it will be hard to get comfortable.
Gerbing T5 gloves are awesome.
Skip the heated vest and get a heated liner jacket. There is only a few dollars difference and your arms will like you more.
Also balaclava (to keep neck and lower face warm) with FF helmet is essential for comfort. You can't drive at freezing temps (at least at any kind of speed) with exposed skin without risking frost bite.
I got a response to the problem with my right-hand glove not working. WarmGear told me to try a few things and if that didn't work to call their 1-800 number and talk to a tech.
She informed me that my gloves have a 5 year warranty, so I was still well covered, and that because this 'model' is discontinued that once I send in the old ones and they check them out and find the glove is not working because I abused it, they'll send me a new pair of the new model gloves which are $20 more than the old model. She was extremely friendly and I couldn't be happier with how it all is turning out.
Hopefully this newer model of gloves will work just fine and I won't have any troubles with them, but simply because of the service I've gotten, and the price(s) still being a little cheaper than the 'big name' glove makers, I'll stick with WarmGear for the time being. I'm willing to bet it wouldn't be this easy with a pair of H-D branded gloves, but I'd like to think I'm wrong, lol.
I will have to check out this Gerbing thing. My coworkers think I am crazy when i ride to work in the 40s. 25 miles, give or take. If I could ride in all weather, it would take a lot of stress out of my life. It is hard to be upset about the workday after a half hour on a bike. Period.
Gerbing , complet set socks, pants , jacket , gloves . the gloves are size large am thinking of trying the size med. i have small hands an the fingers on the gloves are long .
