If you're staying at Glencoe, how is the traffic to and from the campground at night when there's big concerts there, the Chip or the Full Throttle?
The last time I was there (three years ago) traffic out of town on Hwy 79/34 heading out towards Glencoe, the Chip would be backed up into town every freaking night. Is is still like that?
I've been to Sturgis umpteen times, and always stayed east of town, Piedmont area. This year, I've got a friend that wants to stay out that way. I told him no way because of the traffic. Have things changed?
It's stop and go even during the day. A lot of people who stay at either the Chip or Glencoe get back in late afternoon, and do their partying there rather than downtown. It's 1.8 miles from Glencoe to the Chip, and a lot of people walk between the two campgrounds if they are staying at one and going to a concert at the other.
I stay on the other side of town at a small campground where there is not a lot of people..I dont mind crowds and traffic for a while..but then I like to get away by myself.
