Default MC Jack Question

Is it good or bad to store your bike jacked up in the winter?

I do it. It's fine. Just put the locking mechanism in place to take the stress off the jack bottle.

Good for the bike but bad for the jack so you have to decide which one is more important to you.

Definitely strap the bike to the jack as well.

Plan on storing mine on the jack. Have a J & S and from what I hear, it doesn't hurt it if you take the pressure off the jack.

Different opinions on this, but I say it's overkill to store on a jack

I have heard that it is better for your tires to get them off the ground, but that depends on where you live and how cold it gets. Other than that, there is no real reason to lift the bike unless you are trying to consolidate space. Note: If you take your bike to a dealer to store it for the winter, they are not going to put it on a lift - at least not around here.

I heard that too so I put an old 5x8 rug under the bike just to get the tires off the concrete, works for me.
