inner cam bearing puller
help here fellow bikers. i am doing a motor rebuild this winter on my 1998 ultra 80"evo efi. just pulled the cylinders and heads. need to bore .020 and will probably go with 8.5:1 and have the cylinder resurfaced as well as the heads that equal .040 to get more compression for my new ev-27 cam. my need is this: i am going to replace the inner cam bearing, and to my surprise, i need a special tool! inner cam bearing puller. well i am only going to do this once and to spend over $100 on a tool seems a little bit outrageous to me. i would rather use the money for the rebuild don't you all think. is there any resource that will rent the tool or does someone have the tool that i can buy relatively inexpensively?

Auto Zone will rent you a blind hole bearing puller for a refundable(when you bring it back)amount of $160.I did this several months ago.Took about 5 min. to pull the bearing.Install your new bearing with your old cam.

Auto Zone worked great for me ....tool to pull old and install new bearings. Deposit only and it was around $255. Got it all back........a great service !!!!!!!!! (This on a '04 Softail)
