bags, looks, air ride, cruise, quick release shield... handles VERY well for a tourer

add a few chrome pieces and it completes the bike.

storage is excellent

2up riding is a breeze and very comfy

i can ride hundreds of miles per day with NO complaints

The Custom has the beach bars, is lowered and has the solid wheels. The last two of those make it a possible alternative depending on how you want to customize your ride.
I have an 05 RK Classic and love it. I did change the bars, seat, lowered rear suspension and of course pipes and intake. The look is Classic HD. The bike gets lots of compliments due largely to it's having a strong styling link to HDs of the past.

I have toured some and it is very competent in that regard. Set up just well enough to tour but not so much, faring, radio, etc. that it detracts from the basics.

I bought my 02' RKC because I liked the Nostalgic LOOK!!! I found out a bit later that it rides like a dream (I'm 6'2"), gets lot of attention and easily converts from a touring bike to a city cruiser by popping off the windshield (less than 5 seconds). I'd have a hard time switching to any other HD except a Road Glide.

Great ride, great looks and also the wife likes riding on the back. I've had lots of toys from boats to bikes to cars and trucks. The Road King gets more attention than anything I've ever owned. But mainly I love riding it.

My 2006 RK Classic is my first bike and I love it. I rented a Dyna, Softail, and Road King before I made my choice. For me it is the perfect choice considering comfort, handling, looks, storage, and that Twin V. I have done a Stage I & II, changed the handlebars to extend reach, added road pegs, and changed out the wheels to tubeless. All I can say is that it just keeps getting better.
