I rode my Dyna for 2 years without one - never minded the head buffeting nor the bugs. Borrowed a screen when I went for my 1500 mile jaunt last summer. Came home, gave it back to him..went and bought me a QD one. Now I use it for long, cold-weather trips.

I have had one bike only, and it has a screen. I rode my buds Dyna, he rode my Geezer Glide at the River Run a few years back. He liked it so much, he went and bought a Geezer Glide the next year.

Some bikes look good with a low profile windshield. Like the street glide. My Fatboy however, does not look good with a windshield, so that was the first thing to go.

Yesterday hit 70, rode to work and back and that sealed the deal, windshield is now off for good. I think I would just rather bundle up than put the windshield back on.

I don't know how you guys do it. Maybe I'm not old enough to "get used to it" yet
Hopefully you'll never get old enough

Im not a fan of windshields. I know the picture of my bike has one (I gotta update that pic), it lasted only about 50 miles or so. I didn't like the buffeting, distortion around corners, or the constant looking under and over it, depending on conditions. I know people who swear by them....whatever floats your boat.
The last time I responded to a similar post a few months ago, I got responses saying things like "..Oh, so you're a tough guy, eh?" WTF? Ride what you like, how you like. Who gives a crap.

When i first got my fxrs, it had a shield, hated it, too much distortion between looking thru the screen and not. As far as cold riding, I'd rather have some protection for my legs than face. Maybe one of the shorty shields would be better. I'm not bashing, I see myself in a full dresser in the near future. We don't get older biker wise, but our circulation takes its toll as the years go by.

no screen here.
i don't see the big draw to having one.
Just seems like something else to clean.
but to each their own.

First of all you're not supposed to look through the windshield. It is supposed to come up to the tip of your nose. I take mine off if I'm going for a ride at night when the bugs are out. I would rather wash my face than the windshield.
