What kind of heated gloves made/sold by Harley burn you? I have had Harley heated gloves for almost (3) years now. I hook these straight to the bike w/ on off switch and never turn them off while riding. (I have also tried diect conection; no difference) By the time I am out for an hour or so on <35 degree days my thumbs feel like they are frozen, and the rest of my hand is just so-so warm. Both me and my wife, who also has a like pair, think they are terrible. They NEVER get hot.
We bought them a year apart so I doubt if its a manufacturing problem. Everyone I talk to says you need a heat controller. I say: How can a heat controller make them warmer?
I have tested all the gloves and they are coreect as far a electrical goes.
11.2 ohms @ 12V = 12.8 watts per glove on all four gloves. Naturally if the voltage is increased then the wattage increases exponentially.
These gloves look like the Gerbings Classic gloves with a reflective Harley B&S on the top of the cuff and ridges across the knuckles. No velcro, just a cord to tighten at top of gauntlet cuff. I'm not even sure they make this kind anymore. HD #98113-04V
Are your gloves sized properly? If the glove is "fit loose", it will not feel like the glove is getting warm/hot.
Hope everyone here had a really nice Christmas. My wife gave me a pair of Harley Davidson heated gloves.... Do you folks that have them like them? Some folks have said that they don't last long before they stop working, others (but not many) say they love em'. I have not hooked them up to the bike yet.
Cheers,
Paul in Colorado
Mine are great....two years old....Gerbngs stands behind them....
Boxer 6... I even went to a size M (normally wear L or XL gloves) I tried a size Large originally but they felt like they were way too big. I look at these posts and I am wondering what temps some of the posters are riding in. The gloves are fine at 40 -50 degrees; but NEVER too hot. (well I guess if it was 85 out maybe....) My friend just got a set of Gerbings G3 gloves; I think I will trade him one day; see what he thinks.
I have had a pair for 5 years now. Absolutely love them! One quit working on my trip to Alaska. Sent them back to Gerbing and got a brand new pair in return.
