my new find
While looking through some magezines last week I came across an add that said 2001 softail standard 9500. with 5000 miles, I thought about it for awhile and decided to call, there were no photos but he seemed like a nice guy, said the bike was ok , always covered, did his own service work, he was a GM tech for 31 years, after talking he said I could have it for 8500. I said I would be there tomorrow afternoon. so sight unseen I rented a u-haul trailer and started on the 5 hour trip to NJ. not knowing what to expect. when I got there I was met by a very nice couple invitrd me into there home and showed me there photos of there first bike a 1965 sportster, and his father on a police bike ( he was a motorcycle cop). and later when we went to the garage he showed me the most beautifull 5 year old bike I ever saw, I mean it was as clean as a pin, I couldnt get the check out fast enought, helped me load the bike along with a ton of extras, when I got back on the freeway I remember how lucky I felt, not only for the bike I found but for wonderfull people I met , so at the risk of boreing everone I better go, (I never typed this much in my life)
