You can't buy a total wreck Harley around here for $1500. I would have jumped on it too.

Well , there was a big oil spot under the bike and in the first thread everyone was saying it had to be torn down . But I noticed that the petcock on the tank had been left on and I KNOW from experience on the older bikes "because I did this to myself on an old Sportster once" that if you leave the gas on it can slowly drain down into the base of the motor . the thinned oil will then wick through gaskets . So I intend to change all the fluids on the bike , spray oil in the cylinders and crank it a few times with the kickstart and then give a try at sparking it up . If it runs I will let it run for a bit and then do a second oil change on the motor (because of the gas that I'm sure got in the bottom end) and it should be good to go . Well after other things are adjusted and oiled and lubed . The tires even look great on it and hold air , but they are cracked with age and will be changed . Saddly I won't be doing all this for a while as I have no garage to work in and it's winter here

Excellent find and great price not matter where your from. I got my 87 FXR for 2000 and thought I stole it. I would be beside myself if I could find a 65 for 1500 no matter what motor it had. Good luck on your project.

That cleaned up quite a bit, just needs some detailing and it will be a nice rider as it is.

Great find and it looks like a great project. Be nice to keep her the way she is and ride the heck out of it.
