What the previous post say about your legs being in good shape before surgery is true. I didn't have the knees done but both hips. I am 63 and have done hard physical work all of my life. After the surgery (both done at the same time) I was up and walking the next day (50 feet). The Dr and therapist were amazed. I have continually amazed the Dr at how I am able to do more than most people do. I did tell him I think it is because most of the other folks are in their mid to late 80's and have been retired for 25 years but I was working right up until the day before surgery. I will begin riding again on Jan. 26th as the recommended 90 day waiting period will be up then. I have been sitting on the bike and exercising at the gym for the last 30 days. I have no discomfort while on the bike with feet up on pegs. I pray you will do even better than me. Keep us informed of your progress.
