When I'm traveling, I look on the maps for the senic routes and points of interest, like the Hoover dam, Craters of the Moon, Buffalo Bills museum, Wall Drug, etc. and take my time and stop to see the sights to take a break from riding. If riding distance without a windshield I build up a good backrest using my camping gear to lean back on, and at least have a facemask on my helmet to keep out of the wind some. The wind fatigues you more than anything. Give me the backroads anyday.

I hear ya, I would rather be on a nice two lane blacktop through the mountains of Pa. than on the interstate, unless I need to cover some miles quikly, wind does not seem to be a factor with the batwing.

The wind on the face doesn't bother me at all, but it's just that constant fight against the wind. Really tires me out on full day rides and I should have a six pack by now but for some reason it's not there

As for the windshield, I just can't bring myself to put one on my Nightster as that just kills the look of it. I'd rather suffer the punishment of the wind than buy a windshield.

Maybe when I'm older and have nothing else to prove, I'll get off my girl's bike and get a nice caddy with all the bells and whistles

I avoid the interstates here, the people are just plain friggin crazy, and at 75 to 80 mph its just not worth it, we have alot of great scenic 2 lane highways here, the wind is not a factor as I ride a SG with a tall windshield.

I feel safer on highways and interstates when all the traffic is moving along at the same speed. I don't like busy towns with a lot of cross streets

This picture was taken in Sturgis. It's "Old" Rt90 which runs along new Rt90. Really nice road

living in south texas, you have to ride most of the day to get out of the state. like to put 6-800 miles in the first day and then enjoy the scenery the other days. can't beat interstates for grinding out the miles.

*There is no scenery
*It gets boring

Just wondering how others feel about the slab.
That about sums it up.

I only ride the interstates when I need to get somewhere fast. No doubt, it has it's challenges;

Distracted drivers
Debris flying off of trucks
Wind blast
Aggressive drivers merging without looking or signaling
