If you haven't made a decision yet, please tell me where the schott is available so I can buy it.

Thank you.

Doing the schott. Its the smart choice for me and the coat I fell in love with. Learned a lot though on the thread. Thanks

I just want to know why Heine Gericke stopped making leather? Love the jacket I bought in '94 and still a great piece.

Leatherup is garbage!!! I bought the $90 "premium" jacket, and out of the box one of the zippers was shot. Then I found that if I cross my arms in it you can actually hear the stitches popping for where they are sewn to the back. And sitting in my closet next to my other outgrown motorcycle jacket, the leather just looks cheap. I'll wear it until it literally falls apart, but I can't imagine that being more then a year or two. Never again.

You can get them cheaper than that. The one I have on in the Avatar pic was a brand new with tags from a dealer for $250 (closing out). The Schott I'll be wearing to work this morning (not a motorcycle jacket) is great looking and people compliment it all the time - cost me $30 on Ebay.

dang dude, I wouldn't wear it on a bike at all. the last thing I need is my jacket falling apart as I'm sliding down the highway...

I do own Legendary, Schott, and Vanson. They are all of very good quality. I also have several H-D branded jackets and they range from pretty good ( and heavy), to light and cheap. The H-D product has required getting size Med, Lrg, and XLrg just to get the same fit.
I would like to see a Langlitz sometime.

By the way, that is one great looking bike you have there!

Thanks for the compliment on the bike. I just called Lost Worlds and mentioned that I heard that they and Schott were made at the same shop. I won't go into the details of the rant I heard. LOL. I do believe the guy that Lost Worlds makes their own and Schott makes their own.

After researching the Lost World website and the Langlitz Leathers website I emailed Dave at Langlitz for his catalog. I also asked why he DIDNT offer horsehide leather after being led to believe horsehide was more desireable (durable) than cowhide by Lost Worlds. Dave's response was that he DOES offer horsehide leathers but they are TO EXPENSIVE. I am leaning towards Langlitz due to the fact his leathers are custom, hand-made to my measurements, and seem to be priced comparable to Vanson, Schott, and Lost Worlds. At this point I have come to realize that any of them will most likely outlive me!

I'm dissappointed that Langlitz doesn't offer any kind of CE armor in anything they make, to my knowledge.

In my get-off last summer, I am very glad I had armor in my jacket. I think I would have gone to the hospital if I didn't.
