Ok here's the question. I took the windshield bag off and i knew it would leave rub marks on the windshield. So before I buy a new one I thought one of the smarties could help me and tell me if there is a way to remove the marks? I do not plan on putting it back on. It's a stock HD. Thanks in advance.

The marks are actual gouges in the surface of the shield. You have to sand them out but not with sand paper. You would be using a buffing wheel & a 6000 grit compound to do that. If you polish at too high of an rpm, you will melt the plexi.
If you had a practice piece, you could scuff it up than polish it out & learn what works best!
Hatch.
Save yourself a lot of time and frustration, and buy a new one. They ain't that pricey and after endless hours of wasted effort, you won't be satisfied no matter what you use.
Fancy products that purport to work, cost money too.
Might as well apply that money to the new shield.
Been there, done that.
Besides, it's winter time,..... you have time to order at one of the online discount Dealerships.

The OEM shields have a coating over the plexi/lexan/whatever. Gets all splotchy when you rub on spots. It's not like some of the aftermarket shields where you can do the buff and polish to remove scratches.
