I would like to try to get the scratches out of mine also.
I guess the dude that had it before me had put a sign (prolly a 4Sale sign) on it and around the deges of where the sign was, it has minor scrapes. Not noticable outside, really (although I havent had a chance th have it out at night, headlights might make it blind me) but you can see it under the fluorescents.
I have gotten scratches out of autoglass with jewelers rouge and a buffer before but that would be too abrasive for that winshield.
Novus works well. You cans start with Novus 3 if the scratching is really heavy, or the novus 2 if they are light.
I use the Novus 1 for cleaning the shield. NOTHING else goes on the shield other than water.
When using these products, I simply apply and work it with small circular motions using a microfiber cloth. It will take a little time, but it should do what you want it to. I am personally very happy with the product.
Examine the affected closely. It may not be gouged. See if it will catch your fingernail. I suspect they are just surface scratches and if that is the case Meguiar's makes an excellent minor scratch remover designed specifically for plastic/lexan.
