Del - that brings back some great teenage memories - I grew up just over the PA line in Chadds Ford.
When I was sorting out my ride I got into the habit of asking the "out the door price". I think after you find the exact model/color bike you want you can do most the leg work over the phone or inter web. I live in central FL but was willing to go as far as Atlanta if the price was right. With your range in mind you can get a list of dealers to hit up - then play em against each other.
Just to test the prices call up Jessie or Smooth at Seminole HD in Orlando - they had the best deal in the south east and would rahter make a little off each bike but sell bunches of em. They should give you a number under MSRP to float around. Shoot you may want to get a one way ticket to O-town and ride that sucker back?
Everybody is correct.
1. It's a great deal and it is not going to get any better in August, probably worse.
2. Skip the POS plan. You can start on the Harley just fine.
3. You should not have deceived the salesman.
When I started looking for a new bike I was up front with all the saleman, told them I was planning on buying in Feb. Well I hit the right dealer in October and they made me a deal I could not pass on. Treat people how you want to be treated and life will be a lot easier.
OK, called him back and said id be in next week to strike a deal. i just hope i get a low finance charge and can cut some of the bs charges out or ill have to wait alittle longer and look around.
can anyone reccomend what i should try and negotiate lowwering?
im already gonna tell him im wont pay for frieght and assemble. at $14,099 for the bike i thinnk its worth it but should i try lower or ask for something else? is there something i should expect in dealing?
Say...isn't this the same OP who doesn't have their m/c endorsement? So how can you say you didn't "fib" to sales rep if you aren't even licensed to operate the bike?
I'd say get legal first...then shop.
