Default Employer built us a Motorcycle parking Shed

I wanted to share something with you that my Company decided to do for the motorcycle riders at the work place.

They built a nice "Parking Pavilion" for the motorcycle riders. We employee roughly 200+ employees and in my department, we have 10 riders alone! With living in Florida, the weather is great and you can ride all year. So after doing some research, I ...oooops, I mean my employer found out that there where more riders in the plant than we realized. The only reason they did not ride to work was because of the sun beating on your bike all day long with the occasional rain spurts. So needless to say I had to justify having one built. Did I say I again? ....I know... I'm SELFISH [sm=guilty.gif]

So... with the increase in fuel prices and with the amount of people buying motorcycles to save on fuel, I was able to get a nice bike parking cover built. The plant manager proudly named it the "Petroleum Savings Parking Pavilion" [sm=icon_rock.gif] Needless to say, I ride to work now 75% of the time and more and more bikes show up each day.
This is a nice size one too. It will easily fit 20 bikes under it.

I just thought I would share this with you.

YOU RAWK!!!!! Do you have any openings That is one perk my company would never consider. We couldn't even get a small uncovered parking area.

That's pretty cool of the company to do that. Makes for some good PR also.
Where I work there is around 100+/- employees at this office and there are only 4 of us that own bikes that I know of.
I'm the only one who rides most of the summer if it's not raining when I leave for work. Needless to say I get some strange looks when I ride in and it's 45 degrees but sunny. I live in Michigan so it gets stored thru the winter.

You are lucky.

Man thats pretty cool. My employer has bike cages where you can put your bike and close and lock the gate so noone can even touch your bike. Sadly noone uses them.

Sounds like you got a good employer. I park mine and fellow on 2nd shift in building right next to the one we work in. We park them in there when we don't run the turbine in the off months. On the weekend we just park here in the main building cause there ain't nobody here but us[sm=goodidea.gif]

Your employer rocks with the covered bike parking. I get to slide mine into the fire bay between a reserve ambulance and a reserve engine. Covered and out of sight.

Sounds like a great employer. Mine isn't nearly so "pro-motorcycle". I live and work in Illinois and we have no helmet law here. My employer has recently instituted new "safety" rules banning motorcycles from the site unles the rider and passengers are wearing DOT approved helmets.
